Scott College of Business - Indiana State University

Scott College of Business - Phase 2 Addition
The Scott College of Business at Indiana State University officially opened last fall. The project involved the transformation of a 1930's Federal Courthouse building into a state-of-the-art university classroom building. The project, went through three phases of construction that lasted over 5 years.

The project has exceeded expectations. Don Scott (the namesake of the Scott College of Business who provided the lead gift for the project) commented, "I thought it was going to be amazing when this all started, but it turned out even better than what I expected."

The building included many traditional art deco architectural elements that were preserved and integrated into the design. Of special note is a historic wall mural in the courtroom of the signing of the Magna Carta that was cleaned and restored.

The project is a nice melding of new and historic design. New spaces were created using glass partition systems that, although sleek and modern, allow new spaces to be created while providing visibility to the original historic elements of the building. Additions and Renovations to St. Monica Catholic Church and School off Michigan Road on the north side of Indianapolis were completed in 2001. The project expanded the school's cafeteria and relocated their offices to newly constructed area.  The focal point of the project was the new central entry that led directly to the cafeteria provided easier to navigate circulation between the school and the Church.

Fellowship Hall/Cafeteria
The offices for the School were located in a new mass that mimicked the Church's existing Chapel and provided a gateway to the new entry as well as a plaza for the secondary Sanctuary entrance.
