Schmidt Associates, Inc. - 415 Massachusetts Avenue
We have a new address! Although we are still in the same location we have been for nearly the last 30 years, we have a new front door. Schmidt Associates main entrance now faces Massachusetts Avenue.
415 Massachusetts Avenue is the office's new address. Renovations for other areas of the building are scheduled to be completed this month. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held July 8. We will have more photos and information on the renovations in a future edition of the Newsblog.
Johnson Complex A - Ball State University
Bids were received for the Johnson A Complex Residence Hall project last month. Shiel Sexton has been awarded the project and construction should begin this summer. The project is similar in nature to the recently completed Studebaker East Residence Hall project, in that it involves the demolition of the existing building down to the concrete structure. New construction is then applied around the existing structure. The Lobby area of the existing building is being totally demolished and replaced with a new lobby with 4 stories of student rooms above. The project will be seeking LEED certification and is expected to achieve a minimum Silver level. This will be another exciting improvement to the Ball State campus.

Just around the bend from the Prophetstown State Park is the historical Tippecanoe County Courthouse. This building was a hallmark project for Schmidt Associates in 1989. The renovation/restoration project involved adding a floor for offices in the unused attic space and returning the dome and interiors to their original glory. The project remains one of the great historical treasures of the State.
